Success for Microgaming and Playtech at the Global Gaming Awards

The 2016 Global Gaming Awards 2016 took place towards the end of September and both Microgaming and Playtech walked away with awards. The Global Gaming Awards celebrates the achievements and triumphs from both the online and offline gambling industries over the past 12 months. The first time that an award has been handed to the same winner three years in a row was the ‘Digital Product of the Year’ award and this went to Microgaming.
“Congratulations to Microgaming, one of the biggest names in the digital supply industry who has once again had a tremendous year, spearheaded by this year’s digital product of the year, Quickfire,” said the person who handed Microgaming the award, the Gambling Insider Editor Alex Hammond.

Hundreds of industry leaders were in attendance at this year’s Global Gaming Awards and the prestigious event took place at the Venetian Palazzo Congress Center, Las Vegas. A total of 60 expert judges cast their vote to decide the winners of 12 individual categories. They praised the overall impact that Quickfire had made in the digital gaming industry throughout 2016.

Playtech also ended up walking away from the event with a coveted award. They won the ‘Best Digital Industry Supplier’ award for their ONE Omni-channel solution, but also for their impressive catalogue of games and the breadth of new business. “The award is recognition of our core focus for continued innovation. The past 12 months has been another record-breaking year and we are delighted to be rewarded with this highly sought after title,” said Playtech’s COO, Shimon Akad. On presenting Playtech with the award, Alex Hammond said, “Congratulations to Playtech for winning in an exceptionally competitive category and claiming the trophy this year.”
